Costume Design

Fi Bourke Design

At Fi Bourke Design, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting and high-profile projects. Led by Fionnuala Burke, the company initially pivoted to producing face masks during the pandemic, providing them free to frontline workers and selling them to the public. This effort drew in volunteers, including myself, who contributed to meeting the high demand.

My role quickly expanded beyond volunteering, and I was thrilled to transition to a part-time position as the company returned to its core focus: creating custom costumes for sports and dance competitions. My contributions span cutting, sewing, and stoning—a meticulous process where I apply crystals to each costume, ensuring they stand out with a dazzling finish.

Highlighted Projects

Lisette Krol – The Big Deal

One of our most distinguished clients is Lisette Krol, a top pole dancer in Ireland. We had the privilege of designing her stunning outfits for the TV show The Big Deal. Lisette’s incredible performances led her to win the competition, and I had the honour of stoning her costumes for both her audition and performances. The images across and below capture some of her breathtaking moments on stage, showcasing the intricate detail and sparkle of the costumes.

WWE Wrestlers – Scarlett Bordeaux and Becky Lynch

Another notable project involved creating custom costumes for WWE wrestlers Scarlett Bordeaux and Becky Lynch. For these costumes, my primary role was the application of assorted coloured stones. This task allowed me to exercise my creativity, layering crystals to achieve an extraordinary, eye-catching sparkle. The photos below highlight these dynamic costumes, reflecting the dedication and attention to detail that went into each piece.
